Our Doctor
Dr. Wood established his first private practice in 1988 in Greeley Colorado, after graduating from the University of Nebraska school of dentistry. After practicing in Colorado for nearly two decades, he went on to open a small mom and pop practice in La Jolla, California with his hygienist wife, Kat, until early 2016. Ready for a slower pace of life, the the Wood’s decided to move and in 2018 opened Island House Dental Care on beautiful Orcas Island. Recognizing the need for comprehensive dental care and possessing the advanced skills and experience to provide procedures that most general dentists refer out, Dr. Wood decided this was the perfect place to spend the peak of his career. Combining state-of-the-art technical expertise with a passion for aesthetics, Dr. Wood has developed a reputation for achieving the consistently exceptional and long-lasting results his patients love.

Our Business Team
Our business team is here to greet and care for when you enter our front door and again at the end of your appointment. They are committed to helping you understand and navigate the financing options for the treatment you desire. They happily coordinate follow-up treatment visits in and outside of our office.

I have been a registered dental hygienist since 2007. I am completely committed to the treatment of periodontal disease and the education of our patients to help them maintain good oral hygiene which contributes to their total body health.

My love for teeth began with my childhood dental hygienist and grew from there. I enjoy working with people, helping them reach new dental goals and watching patients succeed. I love hiking, exploring nature and enjoying time with friends and family. Especially watching my daughter play competitive volleyball!

I have lived on Orcas for 8 years and that's when I entered the dental field. I joined the Island House Dental team in 2023. It is so wonderful and inspiring to work with a group of people dedicated to growing themselves and their knowledge to provide the best dental care they can. When I'm not at the office, I enjoy playing with my great dane puppy at the beach!
